The laser surgery really stung and my face burned for hours afterwards. Today I have swelling, especially under the eyes, and redness. This was just an initial treatment where the doctor used a fine point laser to trace the major capillaries in my cheeks. I wont see any real results until I have surgery again in 6 weeks. At this next session he will use a laser with a 4mm head to cover every square inch of my face and close down all the small capillaries close to my skin. I'm expecting some very good results with reduced general redness and also less flushing when exercising or just hot!

Each treatment costs NZ$600, so about US$300. The technology is very new and this laser only arrived in New Zealand this year. The most ideal patients are those with very fair skin, so if looking into laser surgery I suggest you avoid tanning. If there is anyone in New Zealand or Australia seeking laser surgery I suggest you contact my dermatologist, Dr Kevin McKerrow, as he comes highly recommended (I sought several second opinions).
