Fantastic KP info for people of color!!!

I can't believe I found a web site that I'd never seen before. Kat Leverette is an aesthetician to the stars with her own clinic in California. Her site offers quite a bit of useful information that may be of use to everyone, especially people of African-American, Hispanic, and Asian ethnicities. Hope this helps!!! http://www.solutionscenter.com/yourskin/KeratosisPilaris.asp Joy |

Well, I guess this sums up the Sulfur Soap, benzoyl peroxide and the brush. These are the three things that have worked so well for me. Thanks for the post. |

You're welcome! I'm hoping to pick up some sulfur soap, benzoyl peroxide, and something to exfoliate with after work tomorrow. How well does it work for you? Are you a woman of color? i'm interested in seeing how well it works for someone with a similar skin type? How extensive is your KP? Mine is widespread: Arms, torso, buttocks, legs....seemingly everywhere! I want to wear shorts SO badly by April!!!! Joy |

I know what you mean about the shorts. After I had my Daughter it spread all over my legs really bad. To be honest the S. Soap is the only thing that has ever helped me. I ordered more and just recieved my 12 pk. the other day. I have always had KP(since early teens) but not bad at all. Just on the backs of my arms and a little bit on my legs, it was really mild. I am white, I guess fair skin but I do tan really well and I gave that up because I felt it looked even worse. I asked my Doc about the soap and he said to try it and to use a stiff brush( on my legs and arms). Don't know if I could use it on mt torso. It took some getting used to but my bumps were gone w/in 2 wks. Then I was left w/ the red dots. I tried other things to lighten but they did not work. So someone posted about the Oxy, it has lightened alot. My legs look pretty normal now but I can still see it a little, my husband says I'm crazy.I am happy w/ the Oxy results and still do this regimen daily. If you use the Oxy use a good moisturizer so you don't get dry. |
