A Little Perspective

Last niight while straining to see my shoulders in the mirror I wondered why I hadn't try to control my KP better last winter. That's when my husband first noticed it had spread down my arms and I noticed it had gone up to my shoulders. Then it dawned on me. That's when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer! Suddenly, all the red bumps in the world didn't matter because they are ugly but benign. Not one single person had ever noticed the lump in my neck but it could have killed me. I compeletely forgot about my kp for a year while undergoing cancer treatment. Now, while I am trying to treat my kp I never let it upset me.

I say this only to offer a little perspective to some kp sufferers who have let themselves become depressed over this. Don't let kp bring you down. Things could really be much worse!
