Tired of the false claims

The people who post claiming there bumps are nearly gone due to various products leave me suspicious. I think this might be some scams. Why havent i responded to any of these ****py products? not ONE bump has disappeared, i know everyones skin is diff. but some people have had ZERO results and some have almost all there bumps gone? How can this be, i think people are either tricking us or they are in denial that they're bumps are really gone! |

I was negative for a while until I found products that made a real difference in my KP. Everything does not always work for everyone. I have tried many products and I have spent some good money for something that did nothing. I am now 29 yrs. old and my Insurence does not cover everything, either I am too young or too old for them to cover it. So I had to pay. So now I have found things that do not cost much and they are working for me. Things take time, not overnight!!! |

Sue, We've had wonderful results using Epilpt and plain old sweet almond oil on my daughters kp for her arms and tops of legs. The spots on her legs have dissappeared and she has very few bumps between her shoulders, elbows and wrist now. Although I see a lot of different ideas being tried out on this site I'm not about to spend that much $$$$$ hoping to find a cure, I've done messed with that already with a dermatologist and spent hundreds of dollars on ****! The only good thing he ever did mention was otc Epilpt. Between that and sweet almond oil (i'm a soapmaker and keep that in stock anyway) things are more in control. Try something simple, cheap, that heavily moisturizes, and keep up with it, keep up with it. My daughters bumps and redness have almost all cleared up and all we are doing is moisturizing, except for her acne and kp on face, which Differin is helping out with that. What helps for one may not help another but you have to stick with moisturizing and you don't need to spend a lot of money for good results. |

Oh yeah, one more thing....as far as people being in denial about their bumps being gone....well, they are either there or they aren't. Don't know how you could fool yourself into NOT seeing something that's really there! lol |

They just come in here and type nonsense....well, that's nonsense. Have you actually tried every single one of these regimes and/or potions? And have you tried each "potion" for at least 2-4 weeks. I figure there's about 10-15 different potions/products/regimes that have been posted here. If you tried each one....one by one, for a reasonable amount of time, it would be quite a few months that you've been at this! LOL You may have KP that just can't get any better. For that I dunno what to say, but good luck and try to be positive! |

I have to say that I was skeptical too, but I had to play around with products. Carmol 20 really didn't seem to do anything for me. The sulphur soap, however, does seem to be working. I think I have fewer bumps and my skin is softer. As far as completely eliminating them, I'm not quite sure what to expect. Anyway, I have found that for me, rotating lotions works better than sticking with just one. Hang in there. I know that sounds trite, but keep trying stuff. |

I don't think so- there are treatments out there that DO work, albeit temporarily (meaning, of course, that you have to keep up treatment in order to continue it's effects). I posted on here a few months ago about my success with Azelex- which did work, by the way. It's not like the bumps vanished into thin air overnight. They've just reduced to the point where they are no longer unsightly. On the other hand |

I can say for sure that I am not in denial about my KP being gone from my arms..I don't have any affiliation with any of the products I recommended (Pernox & Oxy), I just wanted to share my success with others & I'm glad that it has worked for some & sorry that it hasn't worked for you. Keep trying, be persistent..something will work. |

I feel ya! I haven't responded to the salycilic/carmol 20 combo, so i didn't have any hope, but I started using sulfur soap and oxy, and frankly, i'm starting to see a real improvement! My arms are smooth and the dots have shrinked. For the first time in my life, i actually feel that my case is improving. And who knows, maybe if i keep doing that, they'll start to look "normal" once again! |

Hi Sue. I don't have a whole lot to add, but I wanted to repeat what I have said worked for me in an earlier post. I have been using the Glycolic acid KP kit for about 1 1/2 - 2 months now and it has been working very well for me. I use the body wash with a loofah in the shower and then right after getting out, I put on the lotion (not too thick). I noticed some results after a few days, and then drastic results after a few weeks. I only have a few bumps on each arm now! The scars/dots are still there, but it is a huge relief to at least be able to not have the bumps. I do the wash/lotion in the morning and at night. I do notice that if I skip one or two in a row, a few bumps will pop up. I think everyone has been saying this and I fully agree--you have to be very strict on yourself with sticking to the schedule that works for you. I start feeling better about it (and am too tired at night) and skip a treatment--then I have bumps! I do not know what the future will hold--if my symptoms will regress, etc--but we can only do what we can do. I also agree that we have to keep everything in perspective (easier said than done, I know). But, try to look to the positive things in your life! Take care and good luck! |
