I went through a bottle of pernox and decided not to use it anymore. My bumps were already gone due to the Sulfur Soap so I'm just sticking w/ that, lubriderm and the Oxy 10 Cream. |

YES!! I used Pernox first, before I decided to use the Sulfur soap. After about two days of using it, my arms were soooo dry and itchy. I'm no longer using it, just sticking with the sulfur soap and the Carmol for now, but I'm not seeing any results with these two products yet. I'll keep trying. |

Re: READ ON: ALLERGIC REACTION?

Hey everyone. I have been using the sulphur soap w/salicylic acid and then applying the Clearasil vanishing cream, and my arms turned red and started becoming itchy! AND they are warm. It's almost like a sunburn. I feel as if I have chemical burn. Does anyone know if this is due to the benzoyl peroxide? I don't know what to do to make it better. I have taken benadryl and have applied an hydrocortisone cream. HELP!! The itch is kiiling me! |

Don't use anything on your arms but regular lotion until the irritation goes away. one or both of the products you are using is irritating to you. when your arms heal, spot test them to see which it is. it may also be frequency of use. |

Maybe you had a reaction to the Sulfur?? I once had a bad reaction to Diffrin, I woke up w/ it on a Friday mornng and it was gone by Sunday. It looked and felt like I sat in front of the sun for 3 days, I looked really burned. Maybe you should consult your Doc. and let him know what you used. |

Maybe before you try something the next time you should sample it on a small area to see if your allergic. Thats what I do because I have sensitive skin so in case I get an allergic reaction from a new product it wont be all over my arms. Good Luck. |

I think we all have different types of skin and sensitivities, it is just a matter of finding out what works best for you. I do apply the Lubriderm after the Pernox (in the evening), again just before bed, again in the morning, and once during the day if I get a chance. Keep trying things until you find what works. Good Luck. PS - I bought Oxy 10 vanishing cream at Walmart. |

Re: READ ON: ALLERGIC REACTION Results

Well, after doing research, it seems that the reaction was caused by mixing the benzoyl peroxide and the sulfur soap. See, according to the allergic reactions website I went to, it states that sulfur and salicylic acid DO NOT mix with benzoyl peroxide. Hhhmmm, I wonder why other people are using it and getting results. |

I had a friend who had the same reaction to benzoyl peroxide (the active ingredient in Oxy). She put it on her face one night, then it stayed red and swollen for more than a week. Definitely do a spot test once you're healed...to find out which cream it is. |
