I was wondering if anyone has heard of Coral Calcium. I've heard good things about it & that it can clear up eczema. Does anyone know if it will help KP? |

I heard part of an infomercial on this once. The theory is that the over production of some things by our body is actually a response to a calcium deficiency. For instance, they claim that high cholesterol is caused by our bodies over producing cholesterol to make up for a lack of calcium (supposedly calcium deficiency causes cracks in arteries and the cholesterol is produced as a "glue" to close up the cracks). If the theory is true, it could follow that we with KP over produce Keratin in response to a vitamin/mineral defeciency of some sort - whether or not calcium is the mineral we are deficient in is hard to say. I think calcium supplements are a good thing either way. The coral calcium is supposed to be easier for our bodies to absorb and use and, therefore is superior to other forms of calcium supplements. I am not a scientist, so I have no basis to evaluate this claim, but I don't think it could hurt you in any way to try it. Let us know if you do and if it helps! |

Thanks for the info! I looked up some info via the internet & found the that dr. Barefoot has some books on coral calcium. I'm going to buy them & order the supplement. I've been trying to find research on KP & all I've found say's the same thing - no one knows what causes it! I'm no doctor or scientist either but I think it's some deficency or allergy. It seems pretty simple - it looks like a rash!!! |
