Laser Surgery for KPRF
Ok, i've finally decided that laser surgery is my only hope for getting rid of this condition. I called the laser surgeon that my derm. reccomended, and she said it would be $100 just for a "consultation fee." Is this normal? Or should I be looking somewhere else? Thanks to any who reply. |

Most "Laser" places will charge a consultation fee but then if you do decide to go ahead with the treatment with them, they will put it towards the cost of the treatment. I suppose it is normal, because that is the experience I ran into when choosing one. However, I found that it helped a lot to do your own research on the place through the internet because they usually have websites to see if you like the place even before you have the consultation and that helps a lot. |

I'd search on the www. for dermatologists who do laser treatments and who have experience with KPRF.Do not go to a laser-workshop where unqualified people use the lasers and might damage your skin. And be sure to get the treatments done with the "longpulsed dye laser" (V-star or V-beam).This is the only laser that helped me to improve the redness and roughness. Normal dye lasers and Photoderm don't really work. So you can write a mail to www.cynosurelaser (the v-star producer) and ask for a M.D. in a near city. All the best |

I called back the laser surgeon, and the lady said that the "long pulsed dye lasers" were called something like intense dye lasers(she had a wicked british accent)? My consultation isn't until Nov 4th, which seems like forever because my kprf has been so excruciating lately from stress and depression. I'll let you know how it goes. |
