have been successful in eliminating the symptoms of kp? There have been a lot of defeating posts lately it seems(there is no way to get rid of kp,etc.), and it makes me wonder if I really am just running around in circles here. I have been using the SA/Carmol solution for two months with minimal results. My case of kp is still very bad and widespread. So again, have any of you actually made your kp essentially disapear, or we all clinging on false hope? I hope to see some answers.

There is no one thing that works for all of us. You just have to try all of the things that other people have had success with. Some people swear by the SA & Carmol 20, some love the Keralyt & sulfur soap. My KP was eliminated by Pernox & Carmol 20. Be patient & persistent & you will find the one that works for you.

two things have "worked", neither of which are particularly feasible options. Tanning in a tanning bed all but eliminated my KP; tanning outside seemed to make it worse; my theory being that sunscreens/lotions aggrivated it.

Also, as you may have read, KP gets much better when you are pregnant. It unfortunately returns with a vengence.

This sounds defeating, BUT, with the pregnancy thing, there has GOT to be a hormonal connection. I am just holding out hope that someone will think that this condition is worthwhile enough to really research.

My daughter had a case of severe KP on arms, cheeks and forehead, and I have had a fairly mild case of this since I was a teen on my upper arms. We're not even bothering with prescriptions from a dermatologist anymore. Sweet almond oil and otc Epilypt have really helped to clear up her arms and the few spots she had on the tops of her legs. For her face, since she also has acne along with the KP, we have a prescription of Differen Gel from our family doctor, and that has really helped a lot. The first 3 weeks of it was awful, as this cream makes it all flare up, and now her face is the clearest its ever been in over 2 yrs. We also use a tea tree cream on her arms here and there. I hope you find what works for you.
