Originally posted by someone who hates KERATOSIS PILARIS

Hi!

I have a question for anyone who has been using the salicylic acid and carmol 20 formula, it has been making my skin seem really dry it does not itch or hurt though, i was just wondering if anyone else has also went through this or if it is normal? I would appreciate anyone's information!
Thanks!!

As I posted below, it made my arms peel like after a sunburn, although it did make them dramatically smoother. I used Keralyt mixed with Carmol 20. For the moment I have switched to the sulfer soap and Lubriderm, but I just started two days ago. The trick seems to be to find an acid powerful enough to exfoliate and then a lotion that will saturate the skin with moisture to overcome general dryness and the drying effects of the acid. This seems to require slightly different calibrations for each individual which is why some people respond to LacHydrin and AmLaction which are far less powerful acids. My suggestion is to reduce the salicytic acid and to use more lotion. Also it may help to lotion other times of the day if possible. Hope this helps--Ellen
