Chloe… it really depend on your personal reaction to hormones. I have this theory that I would like you ladies to help me out on. Seeing as how birth control pills simulate pregnancy, if your kp lessened during the actual gestation period, wouldn’t it let up with a simulated one? (throwing stones in the dark here) Does anyone have any ideas or comments about this? (any OB-GYN’s out there?!?!?) also, has anyone tried Ortho-Tri-Cyclin? I know that it is supposed to help impede the production of oil from sebaceous glands having acne-clearing benefits… I would imagine that it wouldn’t be great from kp suffers (especially those who suffer from dry skin). Again, any comments? And what about depo-provera shots? (aah, curiosity killed the cat) Lots of love (and questions!) Mel |

It made me extremely itchy, but i don't think it made the bumps any better or worse. Probably depends on the hormone level you are on and how your skin responds to the different hormone levels. |

I have been on the Pill for years and I always had KP, not bad at all just on the backs of my arms and a tiny bit above my knees and it never bothered me until about 6 mos.after I gave birth. The KP spread all over my legs really bad and the Doc seems to think it is Hormones. It has gotten much better since but and I am currently on the pill so who knows everyone is different. |

I'm on the pill now for about 8 years, and I had KP for almost my whole life. The pill didn't make any difference on my KP, but about a year ago I wanted to give it a try not taking any pills anymore, and the condition of my KP-free skin became really bad, having youth-acne again, etc. I started taking the pill again, and now the KP-free areas are normal again. Once more: no difference for my KP. |
