HARD WATER VS. SOFT WATER

I WAS THINKING OF HAVING A WHOLE HOUSE WATER SOFTNER PUT IN UNTIL THE SALESMAN GAVE ME MY ESTIMATE OF ALMOST $4.000. HE SAID A LOT OF CUSTOMERS SAID IT MAKES THEIR SKIN SOFTER AND HELPS WITH DRY SKIN AND KP. HE SAID THE ONLY PLACE IN THE COUNTRY WITH SOFT WATER IS PA. HE LET ME WASH MY HANDS WITH SOME IVORY SOAP(NATURAL), AND THE SOFT WATER. I THEN RINSED OFF THE SOAP OFF FOR ABOUT A MINUTE, BUT MY HANDS STILL FELT LIKE I HAD SOAP ON THEM. I TASTED MY FINGERS(NO SOAP). MY HANDS WERE SILKY AND SOFT. NO HARD WATER DEPOSITS. I'M REALLY A SKEPTIC SO I TOLD HIM I'D GET BACK TO HIM AFTER DOING MORE RESERCH ON THE BENIFITS OF SOFT WATER. IF I REALLY KNEW IT WOULD HELP MY KP, I THINK I WOULD PLUNK DOWN THE 4 GRAND IN A MINUTE. ANYHOO! DOES ANYONE HAVE SOFT WATER OUT THERE OR A WATER SOFTNER? I GUESS I'M GETTING DEPERATE. QUESTION: IS SALT WATER HARD OR SOFT? |

Do you mean Pennsylvania? That is not true if that is what you ment. I know so many people that live in PA and have horrible hard water. So hard you are unable to get it off you shower doors. I live in Phia. and I do have soft water and I still have KP. Maybe it would be worse if I had hard water. It just seems like so much money. |

Yes, the salesman told me Pennsylvania had soft water. Maybe just certain parts do. I read an article on the Internet from an English medical study that said Hard water made childhood eczema worse. In areas of England where there was soft water, there was still a lot of ezsema, but the cases were not as severe. This also may apply to people with KP. I also read adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to your bath will soften the water. I just can't see paying 4k either. I don't know why the medical profession can't do more to help us KP sufferers. I guess they would lose to many patients that way. |
