Anyone else have KP on torso, belly and back in addition to EVERYWHERE else ?

Just curious as to how common it is to have KP all over such as me. I mostly have the red dots EVERYWHERE, but do have plenty of bumps on torso, belly, and back in addition to arms and thighs. It really sucks!!! |

Torso for many years, a little bit on the back, some on the legs, but not too noticeable (yet), on the neck (less noticeable, but it started recently, and now on my face (slightly - pores look a lot more enlarged and have been told it's skin buildup (which means keratin, which means kp) Now get a really bad allergy (at least that's the doctor's diagnosis) on the back of my neck and a bit on my faces, that looks like dry, crusty patches of eczema - The Topicort prescribed isn't doing ****, and he said there was a strong possibility of hyperpigmentation. So my skin is pretty bad. We're all on the same boat, girl. I guess we have to keep going to find something that helps all the while working on ourselves to accept ourselves as who we are. I've just started taking Vitamin A, Vitamin E and Evening Primrose Oil (some scientific study says that it's been demonstrated to control outbursts tremendously for people with a deficiency in essential fatty acids (which seems to be a common link to a lot of eczema sufferers - I figure that since I suffer from it and that kp is often a dry skin disorder also, it might help for the kp too. Will keep you posted. Stay positive. |

I think the only place I don't have it is my upper back and the back of my neck. Oh, and my feet! I have had it as long as i can remember, and it has always been all over. I am 42 now and my arms are almost CLEAR! At least as clear as I have ever seen them! The rest of my KP really hasn't changed much over the years, except maybe my face; the skin is much more smooth and less blotchy colored. |

WHEN I WAS YOUNG I HAD IT JUST ON MY BACK, BUT I AM 43 NOW AND I GET IT ON MY FACE,LEGS,BACK,ABDOMEN AND WORSE OF ALL MY FOREARMS. I ALSO HAVE A VERY OILY T-ZONE THAT HAS ADULT ACNE SO MY FACE IS A CHALLENGE TO CLEAR UP. WHEN I TRY ANYTHING I HAVE BEEN USING THE CARMAOL/SAL. FORMULA ONLY ON MY ARMS, SO I DON'T GO BROKE. I RECENTLY READ A POST FROM SOMEONE WHO SAID SWIMMING IN THE OCEAN HELPS THEM a lot. I WONDER IF WE COULD ADD SEA SALT TO OUR BATH WATER AND GET THE SAME RESULTS. |

hi - i also have eczema. actually i have chronic eczema on the soles of my feet. gross huh. i did about 3 months of PUVA treatment which helped one foot but not the other. now i just started to use the hemp lotion from The Body Shop. This is GREAT for eczema or any other dry patchy skin type issue. it is only $12 so it may be worth the try for you. i had kp all over my torso right after i had my son. also, being on the pill made my kp worse too. sorry to hear you guys have it so bad. i know it sucks! |

I pick some, I try HARD not to. It depends on where the bump is, etc... Mine is just so bad on my torso, belly, and back as far as the bumps go. It looks as though I have a rash or something. (the bumps are small, but rough all over the places mentioned) ***I was curious, you said you're the girlfriend of a dermatologist, what does he think about KP and possible "cures". Does he have any good ideas for you & what does he think about this site and what's working for others. I know everyone's skin is different, (KP or not) I was just wondering if he thinks there are some good points and ideas here on this site. THANKS (in advance), KS-with-KP |

I have KP all over my arms, shoulders, chest, and especially, my back. It's very hard to rub lotion on the middle of my back, which is where my kp is the worst. |

Actually, I attribute it to the combination of the apricot scrub I use with every shower, Aveeno lotion and lots of water. I added the flaxseed oil and beta-carotene after i started using the scrub, to see if i could also improve the appearance of the KP on my legs (where it is the worst). No real dramatic improvements yet, but we'll see how it goes through the winter. My KP is always at it's worst in the dryness of winter. |
