Results...or lack of

Well let me start off by saying that I have terrible KP all over my arms, it has gotten worse as the years have gone by (now 30). I have tried Retin-A, Lac-Hydrin, and no sulfur soap, and NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER. To boot I am also using clearsil (2% salicylic acid) on a regular basis. My arms are heavily scarred from my outbreaks. I am going to look into trying tazarotene or perhaps Kiretin (as described in earlier posts). It's clear that my body is not responding to some of the remedies that others are. Has anyone tried Accutane for KP on their arms and did it work for them? How about pulsed laser therapy? I need to find a way to help with my scarring, I am going to look into Mederma as well. A suggestion I have is that all of the products and treatments out there for KP could be put on a ratings board and everyone out there could give them a rating from 1-10...then instead of hunting through the posts we could begin to discover what is really working for everyone. Good luck everyone... |

i think in regards to the Accutane that can sometimes make KP even worse because it's essentially drying up all the oil/sebum in your skin. Accutane doesn't really aide in the skin shedding process so essentially you will have skin that doesn't shed at the normal rate and very dry skin. I'm curious about the Mederma. it seems to be the recommendation for scars on the dermatological front... |

I think that's a really good idea, the ratings board that is. People can save time and it would not be so confusing to new people making posts or trying to look for answers to questions. If you try the Mederma please keep us posted. I am currently using Cleasil nad Lubriderm Advanced Therapy and I want to give it more time. Thanks |
