kp and relationships

i have kp on my legs and i always make excuses as to why i dont wear shorts. unfortunately i even avoid intimate situations because im afraid of my boyfriend finding out my "secret" and becoming disinterested in me. i would love to know how others of you shared this condition with a partner and how they reacted. thanks in advance! |

hi there- actually to be honest, no one has ever asked me about it (boyfriends i mean), the only one who ever did is my husband and only since i had a huge flare up after our son was born and it was so bad i could not shave my legs and i was really annoyed (summer 113 degrees and i was in pants) you are your own worst critic. relax. if a guy is ever disinterested b/c of your kp then he is not worth your time anyway. but in all honesty, i have never had a problem with a boyfriend and KP. you know what helped me w/ kp bumps on my legs? St Ives Apricot scrub for Acne Prone skin (has sal acid in it). i didn't need to loofah- just rub for about 10-15 seconds each leg and rinse- the next day legs feel yummy enough to touch. i know everyone here has something that works for them and it does not work for others, but this is only a $6 trial. |

I wrote about this a bit ago{Relationships and kp} with the same problem... you might want to hit the search button and type in relationships and you will find what I wrote and all of the helpful responses that people gave me sharing their own experiences. Goodluck |

let me know how it goes, i feel bad when i say 'hey this and that works for me' and it does not work for the other person. i just got my sulfur/ sa soap in the mail today so if it helps i will let you know. good luck and don't worry about the guys. the good ones are worth the trial and errors you have to endure with the bad ones who are a dime a dozen. oh and if you try the scrub (the one for acne prone skin has 2% sal acid by the way) after rubbing it for a bit, let it sit on your skin for an extra 10-15 seconds or so before rinsing off. i sitll get bumps on th einside of my thighs from time to time (like today darnnit) and this helps. good luck! |

hey what's up Marisa I have kp and my mom had it too and she said no one had ever said anything about it through all her relationships. It wasn't til i became conscious of mine that i noticed it on other people too in school and actually some of the hottest girls in school have it on their arms and faces so don't worry about it. The less you think about it, the better it looks--trust me. |

Just thought I'd share this with you. DH use to point out my skin condition to other people--I don't think he realized what he was doing to me. But, alas, I have my revenge---He has Psorisis (sp?) now. Too bad, so sad... Moral of the story: What goes around.... |
