After spending hours at the bookstore, I finally found the name of this crazy thing. I've had it all my life, always in the same place - arms and front the throat (neck, below my chin)in different degrees of severity. I've been using St.Ives Apricot body wash - I love the smell and it was the only body wash that I could find that had lactic acid in it. I use the wash with a long abrasive scrubby cloth that I got at the oriental market for $2. Then I use Lac Hydrin mixed with Alpha Hydroxy on the bad parts and then Vaseline Renew and Protect on the rest...really I have it everywhere, but it's more severe on my arms and throat. I'm taking Vitamin E, a multi, and exercising and eating healthy. I've noticed that it gets worse if I overmoisturize or use scented lotions. Sometimes before I shower I use a dry brush and slough off the dead skin cells, then go through the above steps. All these things are helping dramatically. Oh...I noticed that if I spend too much time in the sun I get KP on my face...I don't believe in the sun thing...difficult to avoid b/c I live in New Mexico!

In your posting you mention that you use LacHydrin mixed with Alpha Hydroxy… do you actually mix the two together or did you mean that you use both simultaneously or did you just mean that AHA is an ingredient found in LacHydrin? You aren’t the first person to mention that sun exposure aggravates your kp… while the majority seem to see some results, there are those who find that their kp gets much worse. Personally, I find that a tiny bit of exposure (a walk in the park for example) helps a little but KP is a tricky little bugger… it likes to keep us always on out toes! Glad to have you with us!
