From what I understand, just like with kp, there is a hereditary pattern that links stretch mark tendency. My mother, for example had only a handful of stretch marks after her pregnancies… I followed in suit. A lot of other woman notice that their mother’s tendency’s for strechmarks are reflected on their skin as well… this might be due to inherited vitamin deficiencies, and similar diets and lifestyles. For example, while neither my mother nor I were left with extensive stretchmarks, we both used cocoa butter on our bellies and we both drank lots of water during our pregnancies. I use Palmers Lotion (with Vitamin e) on the areas where I have stretch marks (actually, it is also great for massages… I took it with me to a day spa I went to last year and have used it ever since.) I can’t guarantee that it will work the same for you, but it definitely has helped me regain firmness and even out tones in those areas. There is also one that contains shea butter, but I haven’t tried it yet… if you get it, let me know if it’s any good… I hope this helps you! Mel. Ps. Getting sun @ stretch mark areas is a big no no!!!!
