've gone way back and it's very very odd. Because this is the honest truth there hasn't ever been KP , red cheeks, anything like that anywhere back in my family. Infact my mom and Dad , I saw pictures had the most beautiful skin ever. And what really confuses me is, out've all my cousins. none of them have it. But me and my 2 other brohers all have Kp on are arms. And rubra faciei ( red cheeks) from Kp. An interesting thing that my mom told me was that we all were lactose intolerant . can this have anything to do with Kp red cheeks please respond god bless, Mark

If you want to use some kind of camouflage cream, make sure you choose one which is specially made for this purpose. Regular cosmetics do not do a very good job at concealing strong redness, and as a male, you don't want to use very much.

When I was a teenager, I was fortunate to read an article about a range of special camouflage creams made in England and I have been using them when necessary ever since. The website is:

As far as I know, I am the only one in my family to have this condition - certainly the only one with the rubra faceii. I have had various allergy tests and nothing significant showed up. I have found though that when I keep my diet clean for a while (eat just meat, fish, veg, fruit, water) and eliminate coffee, alcohol, sweets, bread etc that my skin does improve significantly and the flushing is reduced. I think that keeping a clean system helps. Exercise and water are very important too, as has been mentioned here before. I'm still hopeful of a cure and have another laser treatment scheduled on Monday with the Aura laser. Hope springs eternal!
