I have been using Retin A for a month and I have seen some slight (20%) improvement on the
KP on my arms. My arm is starting to become a little smoother, but there's a lot of redness. But I'm hopeful that this will improve in the next couple of months. I also went to a nutritionist last week as someone on this forum suggested and found out a lot of interesting things about my general health. Anyway, the nutritionist suggested that I take fish oil, evening primrose oil, and antioxidants for my
KP. I have also reduced my dairy intake and have cut down on junk foods and softdrinks. I also try to eat as much fresh fruits and vegetables and fish as I can as suggested. I have only been doing this for a week so I haven't seen any results yet, but it has made me feel good about myself. I also wash my
KP with tea tree oil twice a day.
She also explained to me the link between roaccutane and
KP. When you take roaccutane, it produces synthetic Vitamin A which your liver distributes around your body. Once you stop the treatment, the distribution process in most cases doesn't go back to normal, thereby making your
KP worse. So for those of you who are thinking of using Roaccutane to treat
KP, consult your nutritionist first!! I wasn't told of this when I took roaccutanne so hopefully you'll learn from my experience. By the way, I'll keep you posted on how I go with my Retin A and supplements treatment.
