Does anybody know what the red spots are caused from? Are they scars? What are they caused from? And for the people who outgrow KP, do the red spots completely disappear or just the bumps? Thanks...any input would be greatly appreciated?

I emailed Derma doctor and they told me it is from blood from inflammation. Lemme find that email and I will post it here.... The red spots are often a combination of remnant
inflammation as well as some blood flow to the area. I cannot absolutely
assure you that this will resolve; it is one of those time will tell
problems associated with KP. However, there are definitely things to try
to help. You may want to try Mederma which helps reduce the post
inflammatory hyperpigmentation (when red/purple) associated with skin
concerns. You can also try a topical Vitamin K product like K-Derm Gel as
if this is due more to vascular flow it may help. Do wear SPF 30 daily as
the sun will try to darken these spots you want to fade away. Anytime
skin discoloration is present you may need to wait several months or more
to determine if Mother Nature will do something. Keep up with your skin
care products as necessary to keep the bumps resolved. Finally since KP
is associated with an eczematous background, the use of prescription
Protopic or Elidel may be something to consider to help try to squelch the
underlying inflammation.
