I hope you are not defining yourself by the look and texture of your skin because you are obviously so much more than that. I find it very refreshing to hear a 14 year old speak about God the way you do. I wish the best of luck with what ever you try. Like you I had alot of stress in high school because of my skin. I could not seem to focus on anything else but over the years (I am 33 now) I have come to realize that if someone looks down on you because of your skin type then they are not worth it anyway. I also believe that someday there will be a cure but until then keep your your head up high. You sound like such a nice young man. I just resently started to see signs of KP on my BEAUTIFUL 9 month old baby boy John (aka: Bubba, he has a cute double chin so that is what I call him) and it just breaks my heart because I know the troubles he will face. At this point in his life all I can do is make sure he is happy and has a relationship with God (like you). Take Care, Cris!!!

anyway, keep the faith. i agree that you should tell your friend that you didn't think it was cool for him to bag on you like he did - i know you would not do that to him. tell him there are no hard feelings but to lay off b/c it is just not cool to bag on a friend like that. most guys your age don't think beyond theirselves (present company excluded of course). it is part of the whole growing up process.
you know what i would like to see? a whole day where no one is on this board- where all of you (that means you, ryan, sheyla, etc) are all outside treating yourselves to something fun - take a WHOLE 24 hours to be YOU, not a "KP victim". One day. Go out and have fun in the sun, see a movie, go skate or body surf...be YOUNG! Stay of the internet. Because one day you will be a full fledged adult with adult responsibilities and a certain amount of seriousness will be in your life and I don't want you to look back and regret the fact that you have spent so much time being down on yourself about KP when you should have enjoyed your time to be free. Explain to people who don't understand but want to...if you give ONE person that info, then the next time they see another with KP, they may treat that person better and you have done a miraculous and wonderful deed.
