steam room really helped me
hi guys, just wanted to share with you what helped my KP. I used to have KP on my face (cheeks) as a girl, this disappeared in my early teens. I still have KP on the back of my arms, raised bumps and red dots that really bother me. However, for the last couple of weeks I've been going to a sauna and a steam room about 2 times a week. Miraculously (as I wasn't expecting this at all...), but my KP has almost disappeared! I always knew that sauna and steam were good for your complexion, but didn't expect results like this!! Btw, I am aged 20, of south asian origin, female, and have had KP on the back of my arms for as long as i can remember. I hope this helps someone. |

well then there are 3 of us! :0) I am 4th generation full blooded japanese american. my son is half and half and has BEAUTIFUL golden brown (since it is summer and we are outside a lot) skin. I hope he keeps it and has nothing to do with KP! I have had KP as long as I can remember. You know what else has helped- I had a body scrub and aloe wrap at a spa. the next day my bumps were gone and my skin was not as discolored. you are right about the steam room. it helps (as well as excersizing and sweating it out). Nice to see there are other asians with kp. my friends who are asian all have BEAUTIFUL skin, not fair! :0) |

it is a day spa - there are 2 in so cal that i love. the body scrub is an hour and the aloe wrap (they rub 3 different aloes on you + a massage and then wrap you in warm linens) is a half an hour to an hour, depending on how much you want to pay and how long you want the massage part. before my appt, i owuld do the eucalyptus steam room for 10-15 mins then do the scrub then the aloe last. it calms your skin down from the body scrub. we all talk about drs/dermatologists on this board, but for the esthetics of kp/kprf, there are a lot of day spas that have people who know about taking care of the appearance/redness/bumps too. like this one time i got a massage (carrying a 2 yr old can be back breaking) and my masseuse took this DeCleor body scrub and rubbed my arms for about 2 mins each and when i left, half of the bumps were already gone. you all should pamper yourselves...it is very therapeutic and I KNOW that KP flare ups are associated w/ stress (last night I was POed at my hubby and my inner thighs and upper arms started flaring up..we literally stopped our argument to watch it- wierd!) |
