Can you guys help me out. I don't know too much about ulerytherma ophryogenes. I think I might have that along with kp, and kp rubra faceii. My eyebrows are contantly red just like my cheeks and they get worse whenever i cleanse them. Those that have this, what do you use to wash the eyebrows with ulerytherma ophryogenes? And then what about moisturizers? I'd love to hear any suggestions. Thanks

What is the actual diagnosis that your dermatologist has given you Ryan? With your eyebrows - can you see small red KP bumps on the outer part of them? Is the hair on the outer third of your eyebrows becoming sparse? Are you in your teens still? Sorry to ask all these questions but I am a bit concerned that your dermatologist does not appear to have explained clearly to you what your actual skin condition is and also what the medication he is prescribing is meant to do. I am not at all medically qualified but I know that I have ulerythema ophryogenes and from my teens onwards my eyebrows become red and slightly bumpy and the hair on the outer third of my eyebrows fell out. If you have any of these symptoms I suggest you may have ulerythema ophryogenes (which is just a variation of normal KP - so don't be alarmed!) however I would suggest first and foremost that you get a correct diagnosis. I think part of the stress sometimes is not knowing what is happening to your body - however if you can get some sort of understanding you are more able to deal with it. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Yes I have bumps on my eyebrows and they are constantly red as well. But I haven't experienced any falling out of the eyebrows and I am still a teen. My doctor told me that I had ulerythema ophryogenes. But I just don't know how to treat this type of condition. Just need some help. Thanks

Unfortunately I was not diagnosed with Ulerythema Ophryogenes until age 35 so I did not have the opportunity of finding a treatment to stop the redness and the alopecia of the eyebrows. Does your Dr know that Roaccutane has been successful in treating this disorder in some people? As Ulerythema Ophryogenes usually ends in the hair follicules being destroyed you really need to look aggressively at the treatment for the KP on your eyebrows before and IF this happens. I would encourage you to speak to your Dr about this aspect of the eyebrow hair disappearing as once it is gone it is gone - don't be alarmed though I am sure that with persistance from you and your Dr you will find something to treat not only the redness but also the possible resultant alopecia.
