Hey Kim thanks a lot for the tips. It's kinda of funny because just the other day I picked up Neutrogena's gentle cleanser and you say not to use it. Anyways, have you noticed that any of these take away the redness? The skin on my cheeks tends to be really dry as well and it's frustrating when nothing seems to work to make the dryness and redness go away. Thanks again for the tips. |

hello ryan:0) my dermatologist says Neutrogena is too drying. I have to agree. You can try it though...maybe your skin is not as wussy as mine! :0) I thought (at one time) using their body wash for acne would help and it inflamed my skin. Anyway, that "great awakening" peel by Philosophy helps the redness, not immediately but if I do it at night (every 3-4 days) then by the next morning it is less red. If you go to the Philosophy counter at Nordstroms, sometimes they will do the peel for free so you can see for yourself before buying it (it is like $40-45 for 10 peels). It only takes 3 minutes or so. You also have to get a antioxidant lotion to use after the peel (does not necessarily have to be Philosophy's).As for the dryness, I use aloe (Sorry I will find the brand name when my son wakes up from his nap since it is in his room) in a VERY pure form from the health food store at night, mixed with Burts Bees Baby Lotion b/c the aloe evaporates pretty quickly. These two items do not clog your pores or irritate sensitive skin (like mine). Another good skin softener is by Origins, their moisture mask is great and does not irritate. If you find anything else that works, let me know. I am always game for a new product.Do you have the bumps on your face as well? You know what works (and is CHEAP) for that? The Biore facial wipes (Target, Albertsons, Sav Ons). In fact, I use it on my arms and it clears them up as well. Totally came across that by a fluke. You should see my bathroom- I have tried just about everything. It looks like I raided Rite Aid or something. Anyway, good luck and keep me posted. |

Yes I have tried almost everything as well. My bathroom is full of moisturizers and cleansers that did nothing for the skin on my face. But thanks a lot for the tips. I do not have the bumps on face. I just have contanst red cheeks and eyebrows. With flushing/blushing all the time it is very hard to keep the redness down. But I like trying new stuff. Thanks a lot |
