SA powder, keralyt gel, and carmol20?
Hi, I was wondering if I can get the SA powder from hocks.com how much do cream and powder do i use. And how do I store it--in the refrigerator or is it okay to leave it out. Also I was wondering how effective the keralyt get with the carmol 20 is. I think I read a post on here about somebody using that combination. Is it equal parts gel and carmol? And do you buf with the mixture on you or in the shower? I just found this site and am so happy I did. I finally figured out what I have! I only have KP on the backs of my arms, but it is really noticeable since I am so fair-skinned. Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! |

You can use Keralyt gel and Carmol 20 together. Keralyt is 6% salicylic acid, so don't use it with the SA powder. In the "Brynn's mom" formulation, the idea is to mix the SA powder with the Carmol to reach a combination that is just 3% salicylic acid. If you mix equal parts of Keralyt and Carmol 20, you will end up with 3% salicylic acid. I use Keralyt with a steroid cream (not Carmol 20) and just mix them together on my skin--Keralyt first, because it's got a slippery, gel-like consistency that makes it easier to spread the cream. If you prefer, you can mix Keralyt and Carmol 20 in a jar (refrigerate it), but be aware that they will separate (like oil and water) and you'll have to stir it up again. I'm pretty sure that "Brynn's mom" puts the Carmol/SA combination on the skin, then buffs in circles with a loofah. Then leave it on the skin--don't rinse off. Read back to some of the previous posts from Brynn's mom for further details. Hope this helps! |
