You need to put either wart remover or salicylic powder in the carmol 20. I don't think you want to put the sal acid wash you found in the tube. I had problems finding the powder and I didn't want to try and mix with the wart remover because all I read was people having problems with it. I bought carmol 20 and keralyt gel (3% sal acid gel) I put the gel on first, then I put the carmol 20 on and then use the loofah and go to bed. The carmol 20 alone works on my legs without salicylic acid. I have noticed improvement, but I guess the wart remover or powder solutions work faster. But I am not positive. The keralyt gel can also be ordered from dermadoctor.com. |

Sorry, keralyt gel is 6% salicylic acid not 3%. I also started using 1% hydrocortisone cream for the redness and I take hair, skin, nail multivitamins. |

No, I do not mix it in the tube. I spread small amounts of keralyt gel on first and then go back over it with the carmol 20. Then I use the loofah and that's it. No washing off, no more lotions. You could try mixing equal (or equal to the eye) parts of both in a glass dish and then spreading it on right after you mix it. I don't mix them because I only put the keralyt gel on my arms. I then use carmol 20 on my legs. So I would have been wasting the keralyt gel on my legs in the mixture. For the redness I use over the counter 1% hydrocortisone cream. But after the redness goes away, start to use every other day and slowly work down to not using it any longer. As far as the size of the containers, since I have used the products and like them, I now try to buy the biggest size I can get. I think dermadoctor.com only sells one size of each, I could be wrong though. You may want to try just using Carmol 20 and see if that helps. Some people only use keralyt gel, just depends on which works for you. I have been using them for almost a month. The keralyt gel lasted about 2 1/2 weeks, the carmol 20 lasted almost a month. Spread small amounts and work them in well when you spread them on. Then buff for 5-10 seconds in each spot with a loofah. You may see smoother skin and then it seems like it comes back worse. I think it does this because the skin doesn't want to cooperate to begin with. I kept using it and it's working better now. But I found the best thing to do is compare products. I would look to see what it contained and the percentages and then compared to what people on the board said worked. You may want to also see about ordering sulfur soap. It contains salicylic acid. Possibly using the soap could eliminate the keralty gel. Luckily, these products do not cost a lot to try them at first. But if they don't work for you, don't be discouraged, you just need to find another lotion, or treatment. Good luck!!! : ^ ) |
