I have tried to do some research on my own but I'm just not sure what is definate. Basically what I want to know is can people have varying degrees of keratosis pilaris? Like from little red goose bumps all the way up to what looks like a bunch of little red zits, with pus like lesions? Or if you have pus does that mean its acne and not kp? I get breakouts all over that come to a head. I would like to think everything would improve if I stopped the inflamation with stuff like antibiotics or accutane but I'm not sure if these are the same condition, or treated in the same way. The gunk that comes out of the lesions looks the same to me. Its like I got a bunch of little zits all over. I'm trying to arm myself with info for my next doctors appointment because I don't want to put up with it. I will have insurance and only want to here about starting some all around program to help the condition. thanks for any info! |

KP also includes spots that look like zits, unfortunately. Similar to whiteheads, a hard plug. My daughter has both the red bumps and also these hard plug spots. I mostly just get the bumps. |

From picking at my kp for years ( I know I shouldn't) the plugs have always come out as hard bumps, never pus like. The redness is around the bump and nowhere else on my arms. On my legs, I don't have bumps below my knees. I only have red dots, but I always thought it was from shaving or something. I have the same bumps on my arms, on the tops of my legs. I have noticed so far, that carmol 20 alone is working to make my legs smoother. I use keralyt gel and then carmol 20 on my arms. I have seen improvement with everything except the bumps on the backs of my arms. I am not sure if it's due to the bumps themselves perhaps being different, and it is just taking longer to see results. I am still going to use the same skin care regiment for a couple of months to see what happens and take it from there. |

I have red dots, red bumps and bumps that come to a head. I think the thing that differentiates the "white heads" from other conditions is that it contains a hard "ball" inside that has a curled hair. These bumps form around the hair follicle. I hope you find something that works. |
