Popping the KP zits

This may sound like the strangest thing, but I have actually had some success by popping the KP on my face. Here are some advisories: 1) Do not use a needle for popping anything, regular zits included. 2) To pop a zit or a KP bump, squeeze it between your fingernails. Make sure your fingernails are well trimmed, or you'll cut yourself. Its really a technique you get much better at as time goes on. Perhaps you should practice on your arms if you really want to get good at it, that's what I did. 3) Stay away from popping the KP on your arms. There are too many to pop and the skin is much looser and it makes it much harder to pop them. You will probably wind up just irritating your skin more. 4) Your hairline, eyebrows, and facial hair areas will be the most likely to form KP bumps in my experience. Do regular maintenance and check those spots daily. 5) Generally, when the stuff pops out the first time, you got all that is in there, unless its pretty big. Don't squeeze your KP bumps or zits too much. 6) If you squeeze and squeeze and can't get anything out of it, and you know for a fact its a KP bump or zit, wait until the next day and try again. 7) Whenever you pop something put neosporin on it immediately afterwards. It will mostly eliminate scarring and heal it up a whole lot faster. My 2 cents. |

It will mostly heal up scarring? I'm afraid to say Jon, apart from the fact that it's not a very pleasant experience popping zits, it looks quite disgusting for people watching (my husband slaps me everytime I pick because he thinks it's gross & he tells me the red welts left from "popping" look ugly) and I really don't think that neosporin will help to heal any capillaries you may damage amidist your squeezing frenzy. My advise folks, from a veteran 14 year picker is to ignore Jon's advise about "popping" KP zits & to continue trying various ointments, creams, scrubs & herbal remedies to keep KP at bay. It's the most absurd suggestion I've ever heard regarding maintenance for KP suffers. Definately do not pop KP zits, believe me I have the scars to prove it. And Jon, I suggest you focus on reading some of the other messages on the meeting board & try some of the products on offer & stop "popping" your KP zits, it's extremely unsightly & vulgar. |

Re: Popping the KP zits...DON'T!!!

Don't do this...you'll end up with permanent scars. I pop the KP bumps on my legs for a couple of years in my early twenties, and I STILL have the scars. At the time I really DID think they were "zits". |
