TREAT KP FROM THE INSIDE OUT

I had KP sneak up in me starting in my early 20's. I went to a 3 different dermatologists with no reslts until a friend of mine suggested seeing a Nutrionist. See, your skin is an indicator of the level of toxicity in your body. If your liver is really toxic (your bodies filter for blood), your skin will reflect this. My KP was a result of being allergic to dairy products. I quit dairy a year ago and not only do I feel a lot better...but the KP is virtually gone now. That is not to say that dairy is the cause of all KP, but most people have food allergies they are unaware of. These allergies tend to manifest themselves in odd ways...like KP. Quitting dairy was a lot easier than applying copious amounts of lotions and creams. Instead of attacking from the outside in...consider going at it from the inside out. Best of luck...hope that helps. |

I agree with you, my keratosis has slowly spread across my body and given the way it has spread I believe that it has an internal cause. It seems that most of the suggestions on this page seem to be about treating the symptoms of KP rather than the cause. I know I am allegic to eggs and I am currently trying to cut out dairy products. Yet, I'm not sure about the link to allegies, as people have allegies without having KP. However, I hope that the actual cause of KP is discovered soon because then effective remedies could be found. |

I believe that it's caused by allergies also, afterall, other skin conditions can clear up when you alter your diet why not KP. I'm going to get some allergy testing done myself, the main reason is because I suffer from bad stomach problems alot which I believe is due to what I'm ingesting. I once did a dairy/wheat/sugar free diet for one week and my KP and my stomach did improve, unfortunately my willpower is somewhat lacking! I think maybe it is time to see if I'm intolerant to something and get it sorted out.Afterall I can only feel(and look)better! Thanks for the post, I was wondering did anyone else have the same thoughts! |

I agree. I think it may not only be an allergic reaction to what we are putting into our bodies, but a deficiency also. I've noticed when I take A&D supplements the KP gets slightly better. My doctor also asked about my eating habits as a child....did I eat my veggies. Well, no...I wouldn't touch them. Now, as an adult, I like most vegetables. But I like dairy and grains more. I'm wondering if a combination of a cleansing diet to get rid of the toxicity and a good nutritional supplement will help. I'll check into it and post later. |

It's true. I had to completly strip my diet down to basic whole foods to clean out my system. Then, slowly, you incorporate things back into your diet and check your reaction. It sounds like a lot of work, but the results are incredible. Not only in regards to KP, but when you eat only the foods that agree with your body, you feel and look a lot better all of the time. I recomend seeking the help of a nutrionist...a naturopathic nutrionist if you can find one. they seem to have a more holistic approach. Oh yeah, drink lots of water too :-) best of luck. |
