KERASAL FORTE (SALICYLIC ACID 10%+ UREA 10%) MAY WORK...(BRYNN'S MOM RECIPE)

I used Kerasal Forte for two or three times.. It contains both saliyclic acid and urea. I used it for my lower arms at first..just to see if it will work.. but i did not use it continuously because it is sold in a small tube of 50 g. and a bit expensive (at least for me around $3)if you consider to use for all your body...Kerasal Forte's formula is like Brynn's Mom's formula..I mean it contains both urea and salicylic acid..I am not sure but these two matters not seperately but together may work..-I just guess-.While using Kerasal Forte i did not buff my skin with a loofah..Probably this was important... Brynn's mom formula contains urea 20% and salicylic acid 3%. Compared to this formula Kerasal Forte's formula is weaker in urea but stronger in salicylic acid.. When i read the messages posted regarding the success of Brynn's mom formula this encouraged me to use Kerasal Forte again and regularly... But i am doubtful in that the proportions are different in those formulas. I just wanted to let you know... Sincerely, Levant.. |

You probably noticed that it was really thick and gooey… the reason for that is that Kerasal and Kerasal Forte are basically a mixture of PEG’s (polyethylene glycol) and petrolatum (along with the actives). PEG’s help stabilize the mixture by immobilizing the SA molecules preventing crystallization (which would occur otherwise since there are not solubilizers in this formulation) however, this embodiment lacks proper penetrating properties (vital for keratolytic effectiveness). Keratolytics, (Salicylic acid) NEED to be “delivered” just below the upper layer of your skin (stratum corneum) in order to break up the excess keratin efficiently. In this case, just because a product has 10% SA doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s “better”. Alson, the occluding nature of Kerasal can make your skin break out. Look for products containing propylene and/or butylene glycol which enhance the penetration of the active ingredients. jc |
