Hello everyone. Well, I decided to go with a series of 4 Sono-peels followed by 6 Photofacials for my upper arms. Sono-peels are supposed to be a gentler version of microdermabrasion and it is supposed to be less traumatic. I don't know if anyone else has tried this treatment or has any idea of whether or not it actually works. The doctor told me that I shouldn't expect perfect skin and that something will always be there. It seems as though the sono-peels and photo-facial should work a 100 times faster than regular exfoliating at home and using over the counter creams. I thought that the doctor would be more enthusiastic and optimistic about my results. Or maybe I was expecting more. Anyhow, she also prescribed me a topical lotion that I am supposed to apply twice a day and I just gave in the prescription so I am not too sure of the names of the ingredients but it is basically AHA and some sort of anti-biotic. I go tomorrow to start on the Sono-peels and I might be put on some more lotions. Has anyone heard of OBAGI? I actually decided to get mircodermabrasion done to my face (where I have kp) a few months ago. I thought that It would work really well since my skin is usually smoother when I exfoliate. But, I didnt get much result from it. But It was probably because I only had it done once. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do!

I had my first treatment and it made my skin feel a lot smoother and I noticed an improvement already. It wasn't very dramatic but this is the smoothest I have ever had my skin - and only after 1 treatment! So I am hoping that as I keep going, it will get much better. I am actually doing a series of 4 Sono-peels and then 6 Photo-Facial treatments. The Sono-Peels are to try to get rid of the rough outer layer of the skin, including the bumps, and the Photo-Facial (on my arms) will work beneath the skin and get rid of the redness and the spots...at least that is the plan!
I will keep everyone posted on my results...The lady that gave me my first sono-peel told me that she has KP as well on her face and arms. She hasn't done anything about it on her arms, but she had done the same treatment for herself on her face that I am doing now and I couldn't believe it because her face was completely KP free. So, my treatments won't be over until December because the sono-peels are done in weekly intervals and the Photo-facials have to be done in 3 week intervals....but I will keep everyone posted!
