I'm really starting to think the way to do this is
to get an RX from my derm for Carmol 20 + Sal Acid
powder and have it compounded by a pharmacist. I tried
the liquid wart remover from Walgreens mixed with
a tube of Carmol 20 and what I got was messy, lumpy mixture that
resembles 'broken' hollandaise sauce if you know
what that looks like. The wart remover liquid
appears to have caused the Carmol 20 to get lumpy.
Now this may not affect its efficacy, though, so I am
using it anyway. But it sure is an unpleasant little
mixture to slap on every night.

I used the mixture for several days and it did help
some but no miracles. I love how soft my skin
gets when using Carmol. (But that happens without
the salicylic acid.) I do think you
are right about the Carmol causing other, acne-like
bumps. (I think that was you?) I think the reason I have such a difficult
case is because half the battle for me is not just
finding things that help the KP but also finding
things that don't cause any other problems.

Oh, I buffed with the loofah too. The mixture is
downright unpleasant to use. Smells of alcohol.
I don't think the results are better than
what I was getting with Glytone Wash and Lotion
combination. And I don't think the Glytone
causes any other problems. I don't think I'll do the
home-mixture
again. I may see a derm, though, and ask for an
RX. That way my insurance may cover it anyway.
