Brynn's mom Carmol 20/Sal. Acid cream / Question
Originally posted by Cris
I had my doctor call in the mixture to a pharmacy which he did. Before he did he told me it would never work (what does he know he told the cream he gave me 6 mnths ago would work and it made it worse). Anyway, the pharmacist told me it could not be done and refused to do it. I then had my doctor write me a prescription rather than call it in. I took it to another pharmacy and the pharmicist there said (in so many words) that I was crazy. He throw away the prescription. Now my doctor will not write another presciption because the 2 pharmacies refused to do it. I read one of the posts from Brynn's Mom/Richard on June 25th. He says how to make it with the liquid rather than the powder (I can not find the powder). I am going to go ahead and make it myself with the liquid. Has anyone out there prepared the mixture with the liquid rather than the powder? If so are you getting good results? Please let me know. Thanks!!!! |

I bought the liquid wart remover from Walgreens - 17% Salicylic Acid and I've ordered the Carmol 20 from dermadoctor - it hasn't arrived yet. I plan to follow the directions in the post dated 25 June from Brynn's Mom's fiance subject 'Carmol 20/Salicylic Acid RESPONSE FOR ALL '. Since reading this board I have tried a few new things that have helped. I'm using the Glytone body wash and body lotion. At night I also use Ureacin 20 cream which seems to help soften the skin so that in the morning when I shower with Glytone, the dead skin seems to really exfoliate particularly well. It practically peels off. All of this has helped but not enough for me. I still don't feel comfortable in tank tops. But then I have a pretty severe case -- arms, torso, upper thighs. I will keep using the Glytone, I really like the body wash. I've used Carmol 20 before but never with the Salicylic Acid. And I've used Salicylic Acid body washes with a buf puf but I didn't get miraculous results like those described on this board by people trying the Carmol/Sal Acid combo. I know aspirin is also Salicylic Acid and I've wondered if you could dissolve a certain number (how many??) of them in a liquid to get the same result. |

http://dermatologistrx.com/ They sell a 'KP Kit' that is the Glytone Body Wash, Lotion and puff for 31.00 or something. The puff isn't anything special -- just like the ones you get anywhere -- but the price on the two together is cheaper so you may as well buy the kit. |
