yer popular, but you seem to be pretty smart, so i ask, that how bout since the neutrogena multivitamin acne stuff has salicyclic acid in it, couldn't you just put both that and the carmol on one after the other, and that would be suffice. or is there a great benefit, to really MIXING the urea and acid?

The Neutrogena Multi-Vitamin Acne treatment has a much lower concentration of salicylic acid than what Brynn's mom has been recommending.

Daniel, nah, I wouldn't think using the Neutrogena in place of the pure salycitic acid would do anything for you at all. The acid in the neutrogena has got to be very weak. Plus, it's got all kinds of other extra stuff in it that would just "get in the way." THe salic. acid in my mixture is pretty hefty percentage. And anyway, and FIRSTLY, I wouldn't mix anything that a doctor hadn't recommended to me....period. THis mixture i use was recommended to us by the dermatology department at a big hospital in Boston.

Your second question, about applying one lotion first, then applying the second lotion on top of it: i think this is an excellent question....cuz you know what??? I think my mixture works as well as it does BECAUSE the 2 active ingredients (salic. acid, and urea) are mixed together and work at the Keratosis plugs (bumps) AT THE SAME TIME. The urea softens the plug, and the acid is right there acting on it -- dissolving it IMMEDIATELY, and without any other junk getting in their way.
