I recently read about this cream in Marie Claire magazine (August issue) and I quote "Dermatologists estimate that 70% of skin problems, including eczema, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis are due to imbalances in the ceramide, cholesterol and free-fatty-acid levels in the skin's barrier layer. Based on this knowledge, Osmotics has developed TriCeram, an over-the counter salve, that in clinical trials dramatically improved the skin ot 19 of 21 eczema patients who hadn't responded to steroid creams. We've found it beats back-of-the-arm bumps too." (p 202)
I am sceptical about these sort of claims, but was interested to find, during further search on the internet about Triceram, that I've displayed symptoms of mild atopic eczema (although I've never been diagnosed as such, despite other family members suffering from it) since childhood. I also have
KP on the face and very, very mildly on the upper arms. As
KP is also a symptom of atopic eczema, I wondered whether Triceram might help my condition and improve the 'barrier layer' of my skin.
After reading several positive medical articles regarding treatment of eczema with triceram, I've ordered it from dermadoctor and will post further if I have good results with my
KP.
