"genetic" vs. "acquired" Keratosis

I wrote Melissa about this, but maybe there are some of you who may benefit from what I found out by following a link from this site. Abnormal Keratosis can be caused by other diseases. There is a list, and I found Systemic Lupus Erythmatosis at the top of that list. Many lupus patients have red faces. One woman I know would blush only one side of her face at a time. That looked pretty bizarre. At least I look uniform. The problem is, my dermatologist does not know that Keratosis can be "acquired." She told me that I have Rosacea, despite the fact that I have had a red face for 40+ years. It was this site that helped me figure out what was going on. I do not seem to have Keratosis as badly as some of you, since I do not consider it to be more than a slight problem. However, I am glad that I figured all of this out, since I was told that sun would help Keratosis. Sun is deadly to people with lupus. Maybe there are more of you out there who need this information.
