KP, KPRF and all it variations are not proven to be genetic, its just a theory. remember when MD's dont know the cause of something its considered genetic, just like the articles u must have read on wikipedia, about it being genectic. its probably more enviormental!

Re: Men with KP?

I'm a 40yo man and have had it since I was about 13!! Steroidal creams will get rid of it while you use them - handy if you are going on a beach oriented holiday.
Buy those loofer/exfoliating gloves - they really smooth things out and after use a nonscented moisturiser. One thing I used recently was sour cream - sounds weird I know but rub sour cream into your arms, legs, butt (where ever you have it ) leave it on for 10 minutes and then have a shower - make sure you persevere for the 10 minutes a very boring time - and then shower it off and use a mild soap to wash it off properly and exfoliating gloves and you will be amazed how smooth your skin is. It is slippery in the bath so be careful - but give it a go - it is cheap and not full of steroids etc.
An aussie company called Moo Goo (google it) also has a cream that softens things well - HOME
goodluck
