Yeah, I would like to see a men's board, too, just so I can snoop on it
and contaminate it with female posts lol. And it's true, if you guys would just TALK instead of being all Mumbly Joe Two-Words, stuff would happen. That cracks me up, that even on an anonymous forum where no one should have hang ups about saying how they really feel, the guys are still all MUM. Why is that? ![]() |

I must admit I enjoyed it when you guys had your men's issue board going (well sort of going!). Perhaps if us females promised not to post on it but just 'lurk' (that sounds strange doesn't it!) would you start one up?????

We men are a strong yet silent bunch...we prefer to use monosyllables and nonverbal comunication...
yep! It is undecipherable to female snoopers... eh? ![]() |

.....and that is what makes you infuriating to us women sometimes!
Well looks like we will have to back off and let you guys carry on with your non-verbal message board. I thought KP was enough of a mystery but I think men are even more of one (lol) Peace to you all and signing off for good from the 'male issues board' - may this place remain somewhere where men can share their thoughts without women prying (not likely - Heehee). |

Maybe we should talk about, well.. uh.. like, how many pairs of shoes we've bought in the past month?
Us men haven't been invading the women's board! *shifty eyes*P.S.: Snoopy rocks my socks! |

Seriously, I have no problems communicating. It's the other guys that have all the problems. I'm a victim. They're a bunch of beast-people and they threaten my delicate nature. Last edited by cycloverid; 03-30-2007 at 12:06 AM. |

So far we have more support coming from women than from men.

Maybe we can block the spam?
This is not related to KP, but because we do not seem to have a moderator, and we are regularly plagued with objectionable spam from 'one hit wonders', I started thinking about how we can possibly block this junk.
One thing I have noticed is when you look at the spam posters' profiles, their 'birthday dates' are almost all on March 28, 1983. In fact, on that one particular day, 537 people on this site were supposedly born. If you want to check it out, go to 'Calendar' in the menu bar above, then in the bottom right hand corner of the next screen, select jump to March 2006, and hey presto, look at all those people with birthdays on March 28!! They almost all have posted just once, and what they have posted is the garbage that we wish would just go away... Who knows why this day was chosen by the spam posting software? Is there a way that we can block the registration, and hence posting, by anyone with a birthday on this day? Just a thought... Annuu ![]() Just found this...seems we are not alone! http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...=195892&page=3 Last edited by Annuu; 04-10-2007 at 08:35 AM. |

This would most likely result in more harm than good as far as a methodology of controlling spam. The person who spammed these accounts probably chose this birth date at random. If you restricted this date of birth, it would simply result in people who are actually born on this date to have to select a different birth date. The spammer could then simply choose a different birth date and we could repeat your suggested steps once again and this could become a recursively futile attempt which would restrict birth dates for seemingly obscene reasons. How annoying.
It's not like a spam filter would be much of a problem to install, or higher levels of moderation, if $$$ and time were not issues. Unfortunately, I don't think these are readily available commodities to the owners of this forum in the quantities required. In my experience programming, spam is always an issue, and the best way to get rid of it is a professionally programmed spam filter... and this of course enhanced by zealous moderators. I don't personally see spam as a huge threat to this forum. This forum is fairly low key. Even in more well-protected forums I have seen hacker infiltration and I accept it as a way of life on the internet for the time being. |

Before the problem gets too big, we should ask the administrator to choose some zealous moderators. Which brings up an interesting question... who is actually in charge of these boards?
