Happy Thanksgiving dear Canadians.

I hope everyone in the great white north had a fabulous thanksgiving weekend! We did here. Again, I told myself I would ration what I ate - but it's THANKSGIVING. Thanksgiving is really the only time that we ever have turkey, turnip, pumpkin pie and - get this - mashed potatoes.

But I was proud of myself for one thing: after I recovered and had about two hours to digest, I got my mum off the couch and we went for a long walk with our black lab Dakota. We did a pretty long walk tonight; longer than just "around the block." I brought my pedometer and calculated the steps I took (Btw, I have quite a long stride. My mother struggles to keep up with my long legs )

And we took.. 2783 steps! Hurray for us.
Well I shouldn't say we; I think my mom did about twice as many to keep up with me. (We usually do about a 1500 step walk around the block).

And before we left I stretched and did two repitions of 15 on each arm individually with a ten pound weight. Then I did some arm stretches again to keep them loose and we headed out.

Now my blood is still pumping; but I'm not working out anymore because I don't feel my stomach would handle it. Normally at this point I would be doing sit ups and doing that fabulous "lean against the wall like you're sitting in a chair until your legs burn and you collapse on the ground" stretch. Which is GREAT for your legs, people. If you want a good stretch - do that one.

Actually that gave me an idea of a blog to post: websites mentioning great and easy workouts. Maybe I can even through in some youtube urls if you guys would like some workouts to do "alongside" a professional! Lol.

I can even give you guys some healthy food tips. Might be a little hypocritical of me because I'm not a nutritionist or a professional trainer - Hell I can't even follow a diet for more than two weeks. But I hope the knowledge will help some of you or empower some of you. Who knows, it might even get me back into the swing of things.

Just tonight I made a pact with my mom that we would walk together every night at a set time a 3000 step walk. Wind or rain, sleet or snow. If there's some lightning, or its 40 below like it is sometimes in this country - I suppose we could workout together inside. We do that anyways in the winter. :]

Also, another thought floating around in my head:
We should do some major free advertising for these forums on health sites and such. Get more members on the board and more activity going on. Its pretty quiet here sometimes. We could try posting on Curezone and Makeupalley.com. If anyone else has any other sites we could leave a bulletin or some sort of message on, that would be fantastic too.

Well, take care everyone - I'm going to get going on some more research.

Bye for now!
