Progress!
16th July 2008
My God. I just called my neuropath (now I realise, that she may not be a neuropath). I don't want to get too excited though she does not sound very experience in dealing with the skin. However she does do the Vega test, which tests for food sensitivies, mineral and vitamin deficiencies, any bugs/bacteria in your system that could be making you ill and CANDIDA YEAST!! However on the phone I'm positive that I sounded like a complete idiot haha, I could tell that she thought I was a moron and I’m sure that I pronounced everything wrong and my voice was shaking but at this point I have hope. One thing though, I forgot to ask her if she can treat Candida yeast overgrowth.
I told her about my research and KP and she sounded sceptical, VERY sceptical but I don't care. She doesn't have to have hope for curing my KP, she doesn't have to believe me; I have to. A lot of people (including family) tell me that I can not treat this, but I just refuse to believe it. All I really need is to take the Vega test, get the results and hopefully treat any problems that may arise to see if I make any progress with my arms. I don’t really need her to be experienced in the skin (although it would help A LOT), all I need her to do is test me and treat me if she can. If I do not make progress with my arms at least I will be healthier after this and it may cure my constant drowsiness. Even if she can not actually treat me at least I will have the results and can take my progress further myself if I really have too.
The Vega test (I pronounced it as VEGA, like vegan but she corrected me it is actually pronounced VAGA, as in Vegas apparently) is £40, which is bloody brilliant if you ask me. Now, I just have to save up for it and go to London. She laughed at how much distance I was about to travel (it's not actually that far, I live on the edge of North London in Hertfordshire!) but I’m not too bothered. I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere. I probably won't take the test until September sometime when I have raised the money and can find the time to go there however but that's okay with me. I realise this is going to be a long process. In the mean time I can continue to concentrate fully on my new healthy lifestyle and other things (like getting a job so I have some constant income!).
I am hopefully going to get coconut oil in a few hours and I’m going to start putting it on my skin and I will begin oil pulling tomorrow if all goes to plan. I feel a little sceptical but I will pursue on in this journey because I refuse to believe that KP can not be cured. People on this forum have cured their’s for Pete’s sake.
Edit: Oh yeah, I’m also going to ask my parents today if they will take me to the doctors so I can have a food and environmental allergy test. I think those are free, I’m probably wrong though, you have to pay for pretty much everything. I’ve never taken an allergy test so it would be good to know if I am allergic to anything and if I am I can then start avoiding said thing(S) and seeing if my KP improves (even a little.)
Edit x2: Okay, so I can't get the oil today either, looks like tommorrow will have to do. I've also just taken some "before" pictures of my arms. I didn't realise how hard it was to get a good picture of my KP close up, you can't really seen mine on camera for some reason because the pictures have come out unbelievably blurry. It is more severe in real life I must say. I am VERY fair skinned and my KP sticks out like a sore thumb against my skin tone.
I've managed to make the pictures less blurry by cropping them in paint lol. You can see them a little better now but I still believe that you can not see the KP to its full extent in the pictures, maybe I took the pictures too close to my skin, i'm not sure. The last picture shows my KP a little better than the others.
Oh and i'm uploading them on tinypic because the files are too large to attach here and I can't be bothered to resize them again. Apoligies!
