A study and Review from Denmark. "To assess the effect of antioxidant supplements on mortality in randomized primary and secondary prevention trials."
"Because we examined only the influence of synthetic antioxidants, our findings should not be translated to potential effects of fruits and vegetables."
"Conclusions Treatment with beta carotene, vitamin A, and vitamin E may increase mortality. The potential roles of vitamin C and selenium on mortality need further study."

fine. eat more fruits and vegetables insted of taking supplements - I GET IT ALREADY!!!!!

I just saw a weak attempt at refuting these studies and criticism of these studies - we'll see if a good one comes up. I do wish the vitamin makers would quit putting so much vitamin A in stuff anyway though since it's usually retinyl palmitate which can be toxic. and when I'm taking SBO anyway, I'm getting lots of A and E so I try to be careful of the artificial supplements since they are possibly harder on the liver. I don't take my multi _every_ day in fact since I read this... I hope the refutations make some headlines so I can check them out.
