Spirulina as complementary nutrition for rhinitis
"...results indicate that Spirulina can modulate the Th profile in patients with allergic rhinitis by suppressing the differentiation of Th2 cells mediated, in part, by inhibiting the production of IL-4. To our knowledge, this is the first human feeding study that demonstrates the protective effects of Spirulina towards allergic rhinitis."

Note: this is a pretty technical citation. If you are interested in this start at the wikipedia entry for spirulina supplement would be my first suggestion. Taking a bunch of spirulina would be contra-indicated in some cases. I'm not entirely sure which ones but for patients doing immune-stimulating therapies to fight disease - esp. some of the cancer treatments , maybe interleukin-2, check on it it's important! - i don't think you want to take it. If you're otherwise healthy but have hay fever or other allergic rhinitis, spirulina could be helpful.
