Week1
DIET I have cut out all sugar/products containing sugar incl fruit, and products containing yeast. I have also cut down my consumption of wheat and dairy to an absolute minimum. I have been taking virgin coldpressed coconut oil. Im up to about 2 tblsp per/day. SUPPLEMENTS Spirillena Omega 3 Iron & Vit C TOPICAL TREATMENT Exfoliate in the shower Rub on coconut Oil after ever shower RESULTS TODATE I have found the diet relatively easy. I have had to make my own mayo, pesto's hummus.... as it is hard to find sauces/spreads that do not contain sugar or yeast etc. i love cooking so i am acutally enjoying the challenge of making meals taste good without all the sugar n yeast, wheat n dairy, and its amazing what you can do, and the amzing the food you end up eating. My partner is doing it with me, and he is being really strict about it too, so this is helping a lot!! I have also been Oil Pulling every morning for 20min. As for my skin, surprisingly my skin is considerably smoother and their seems to be less bumps. I know there are less bumps, because i am a habitual squeezer/popper, and i am finding fewer and fewer to get stuck into on my arms. My legs still seem to have just as many, but i didn't expect the KP to disappear over night, as I have had it since I was a child ![]() I took before photos. In a month or so pending a good result, i will post the before and after photos. Also, I have lost 2kg. So that is a bonus. We had a BBQ last night, with a few friends, and I had prepared dishes that were Candida diet friendly and some that i just could not touch ...... it did require some restraint as normally i would have dug into everything. The hardest thing was not eating any of the Carrot cake I made, with scrummy cream cheese frosting huuumph but its all for a good cause!! PROGRAMME FOR NEXT WEEK I intend to keep up the diet, OP, and Cocounut oil on the skin. Am also going to try and get some epsom salts and maybe use it as a rub. |

Part way through week2 - Quick Update.
Since my last post my skin has gotten considerably worse ....... but im sure that its suppose to get worse before it gets better?? I have bought some epsom salts and am either bathing in it or using it like a scrub each day also. Diet is stil going ok, although i did have sushi today ..... and forgot that the rice has vinegar in it ..... a big no no on the diet YIKES. |

Week 2
DIET Stil on the diet, although i have run out of coconut oil. Because i was running out of it, instead of increasing the amount of coconut oil i was taking, i actually cut it back. Its quite expensive here in NZ, but I have finally managed to source some at a reasonable price, which should turn up tomorrow. The weekend did not go so well either. I went away and visited family, i found it very hard to stick to the diet to the absolute letter, so i did the best i could. I am a person that wears make-up everyday....... I have found that i haven't even needed to wear make-up. There are still some bumps but my skin in general on my face looks great. In the first week, i was applying coconut oil to just the left side of my body, and i have to say that the left side does look better than the right. There are still bumps though, but it has only been 2 weeks. My skin is a lot smoother, mainly due to the coconut oil. The coconut oil really is remarkable. The diet it's self is going quite well. I have now lost a total of 3 kg. I have now stopped the oil pulling. Mainly due to running out of coconut oil ..... not sure if i will keep going with the OP when i get more oil. PROGRAMME FOR NEXT WEEK Will continue with current regime ..... am thinking now about getting some sulphur soap too ....... (will it ever end??????) ![]() |

Ok after some deep thought into my regime, i am thinking that perhaps the oil pulling might have been doing more than i realised. 2 of the things i definetly noticed were that my teeth were much whiter, and my gums no longer bleed when i brush my teeth. RETHINK - When i get my new batch of coconut oil, i will resume OP religiously!

You can oil pull with many other oils, as well as coconut. I use untoasted sesame, untoasted walnut, avocado oil, sunflower oil. Olive oil is good, too, but I find it too heavy. Some like it for pulling. Even using regular grocery store type oil is better than not oil pulling at all. I, too, have much whiter teeth and no more bleeding gums. I'm glad to see you are still on a candida diet. I have been on mine for 1 1/2 years. Sometimes it can take a long time to see results, because candida has entered the bloodstream. Be patient and hang in there. kebod

Thanks Kebod for your comments in my journal. I did try pulling with sunflower oil and olive oil, but i just couldn't stand the taste. The coconut oil is lovely, plus i just love all the other fantastic properties that the coconut oil is reknown for. Funnily enough, my regime is almost identical to yours, and i didnt even realise.
Just wondering do you allow yourself any kind of grains at all? I have noticed that some people allow whole grains (as opposed to refined grains e.g. white flour etc). And Fruit? Do you eat any fruit at all? Fruit is probably the only thing i really do miss mmmmm biting into a nice cruchy apple. But in saying that, not eating any sugar has stopped my cravings for it over night? Its amazing how many things contain sugar, yeast extract and wheat, pretty much everything except fresh veges and meat. Also Kebod last night, I had great delight in reading a skeptics forum you posted on some time ago about oil pulling. It was very entertaining! After reading it, it has convinced me to start OP again. |

The only grains I have are 2 brown rice cakes a few times a week. And I can tell that the candida symptoms increase when I do. So really, I shouldn't even be having that small amount of carbs. Yes, I have seen that some candida diets allow whole grains. I think this is because they can be tolerated if candida is mild. In my case, I have had it for over ten years and the symptoms are severe. Candida, for me, is systemic, meaning in my bloodstream. For someone who has had candida for a short time and it has not become systemic, it is quite possible that a small amount of whole grains will not hurt. I eat no fruit at all. Fructose is sugar; sugar feeds candida. I miss fruit a lot. Yesterday, my husband peeled an orange, and it smelled so wonderful! I have noticed how much more I appreciate the aroma of fruit. You are right. Everything contains sugars, carbs (like wheat), or yeasts, except proteins, like meat, fish and eggs, and low carb veggies. I remember the Skeptics Forum! They were so close-minded, they wouldn't even try oil pulling. How can you knock something you have never tried? You also read posts there by Molly Bloom. She is a moderator on Cure Zone Oil Pulling Forum Oil Pulling & Oil Swishing Support Forum: Page 105 of 105 and used to post on this thread before she became too busy. I post on the Cure Zone forum occasionally. I'm glad you are starting OP again. Candida creates a lot of toxins, and oil pulling is believed to remove much of this from the body. kebod

WEEK 3
DIET Diet is going good. Had a set back on the weekend. Went out for lunch!!!! Damn those beer battered chips!!!! But other than that, i haven't been too bad. I resumed oil pulling, and its been a week now. I applied coconut oil to my scalp and washed out the next morning (to help with my cumbling dandruffy head) I have also now started taking a probiotic and evening primrose oil. I hate taking pills ..... and man, i am popping a few these days!! Im not usually very good at it, but since starting this regime, i have been proudly religous about my pill popping! I have reintroduced a few Wholegrains brown rice etc ...(in small quantities of course) SUPPLEMENTS Spirillena Omega 3 and 6 (6 by evening primrose oil) Iron & Vit C Probiotic TOPICAL TREATMENT Exfoliate in the shower Rub on coconut Oil after ever shower ***Bathing in Epsom Salts, and washing down with it after every shower*** RESULTS TODATE My Dandruff has GONE!!! Skin on my face is still looking GREAT. My arms and legs defintely have LESS bumps (i am finding fewer to squeeze and pop) I have now lost a total of 4 kg. Now that i am seeing some results, it gives me the enthusiasim to keep going and hope to be KP free one day ![]() PROGRAMME FOR NEXT WEEK Will Keep going, as planned. I might take some photos at the 4 week mark to compare. Bought a coconut oil soap today, looking foward to using that. If anyone has any comments or feedback, please feel free to post ![]() |

Going out for lunch or dinner is hard, isn't it. My strategy is to eat before I go out. That way, I'm better able to resist temptations and can be satisfied with an order of a salad or an appetizer. kebod

Part way through week 4 and i feel like my KP is getting worse......
Im a Glum glow-worm at the moment. Its nearly been a month and i was hoping to see some significant changes by now. Perhaps it has to get worse before it gets better? Perhaps its all becuase of the blow out i had at my Saturday lunch? Oh dear ........ i know, il go take some coconut oil. On the bright side i am continuing to loose weight. Lets hope for a happy glow-worm tomorrow ![]() |

Renewed enthusiasium today. I have been consulting my Blood Type Diet book again, and surpisingly many of the beneficial foods and not recommened foods are similar to the Candida Diet. When i think about it, i had not completely eliminated wheat as such. I was a little confused to begin with about whole grains/Whole wheat/Oats etc. So as of tomorrow, I want to completely eliminate wheat!! Including my favourite gourmet sausages, and carrot cake that contain wheat
It will be a sad day, but I have to try. I'm also going to go hunting for a Stevia plant to grow in my kitchen! Its supposed to be a great sweetener, 200 times sweeter than sugar i think? So as i take the last bite of my home made carrot cake, I pledge that tomorrow is a new day, and i WILL be wheat free! ![]() |

Thanks kebod. I have seen it as a powder and liquid, but it was just so expensive. So i spent $4 on a nice wee plant, which i hope to take cuttings from and grow heaps more. Its going to be a "sweet" chirstmas for my family, when they each get their very own Stevia plant heheheh

WEEK 4
DIET Well I have been all over the place this week with my diet. Complete blow out!! I vow to be wheat free from now on. I am also thinking about make a transition or incorporating concepts of the Blood Type diet into my current regime. Surprisingly both concepts are very similar in things to avoid. Even though i feel like I have had a really bad week, (the carrot cake, and some fizzy) when i think about it, although i have weakened a couple of times, it is not bad compared to my diet 4 weeks ago. SUPPLEMENTS Same as last week Oil Pulling (now with EVOO) Coconut oil too expensive here TOPICAL Exfoliate (With Epsom salts) Rub on VCO RESULTS TO DATE As posted during the week, i have felt a little bit down in the minimal change in my KP. But after close inspection again today, I think that they have improved. The day i can wear a sleeveless top and not be selfconsious about it, is the day i know there has been dramatic improvement. I have been OP with EVOO for 3 days now, the taste is awefull. Perhaps the small improvement is due to this? I have also noticed my tounge looking quite white/yellow again!! My results seem to YoYo???? Oh, i have now lost 5kg ...... Atleast something is working ![]() PROGRAMME FOR THIS WEEK No Wheat, No Wheat, No Wheat Research the Raw Food concept ...... hmmmmm |

The Trouble with Gluten Free
The other day I tried Gluten free Cake. After eating some on 2 occasions (admittidly i did eat rather a lot of cake!!) i had an irritable bowel and agonising head ache, and my nose began to feel blocked?? Obviously something in the mix, my body is immeidately reacting too? Could it be the soy lecithin? Iv read this can be a problem for some people. Consequently i am going to stay away from those sorts of foods, i knew it was too good to be true. Although i am enjoying the occasional piece of gluten free bread ..........
Started OP with Sunflower oil today. Didnt taste as bad as i thought it did 4 weeks ago. So am happy to keep going with Sunflower oil. Much cheaper too. |
