Sofia's Journal
I have Keratosis Pilaris on the back of my arms and on my cheeks which are red. I have had this for as long as I can remember. Yesterday I recieved my order for Peter Thomas Roth's Skin Clearing Gel and I am going to try this out for a while and report back on how it works.
Based on recommendations here, I am also going to start drinking carrot juice. The large amount of vitamin A supposedly helps to even out the skin tone. I am so excited about these treatments and like I said, I will report back in a few weeks time. Thanks. |

Re: Sofia's Journal
Ok, well I have been alternatively using Peter Thomas Roth's Skin Clearing Gel and my Swedish Kanoderm cream. My skin is definitely a little clearer looking. I have never really done any kind of exfoliation before so it was needed. My cheeks are still red though and the little, almost invisible bumps are also there. They are much less "ruff" in the texture now though.
For a week after I wrote my first post, I actually deviated pretty badly from my treatments. I did use the above facial products, but I didn't eat carrots or even my normal amount of veggies and fruits and for that week I had almost 4 Danish per day. Well, I could see the effects on my skin after a few days. My cheeks became even more red than before and I got a pimple or two on my face. Obiously that kind of inflammatory enhancing food is very bad on my KP. For a week now I have been eating pretty well and made sure to avoid sugary food and food with flour in it. As I mentioned before, my skin has cleared up and looks healthy but is still red and still has the little bumps. I think perhaps the only thing that would remove the reddness would be laser theraphy. I am not bothered enough by it though to spend the money. The red cheeks are a part of my appearance. When I want to tone the reddness down, I use Jane Iredale Amazing Base, which is a ridiculously expensive mineral powder that does cover up the reddness and looks natural on me. This is my first mineral powder though and I have heard good things about Isadora's mineral powder too so there is no need to spend all that money in the future. Anyway, I will continue eating my carrots and see if I notice any difference in skin texture and skin tone and update this journal in a few weeks time. |
