Exclamation NHS/Laser Treatment

has anyone had laser treatment with the NHS, thats where i have chosen to go, (alot of people have said not to go to a beauty parlour)

Now i pay National Health Insurance out of my wages every week, and i can't imagine the NHS wanting to charge you ridiculous amounts of money for each treatment with the PDL laser.

I am just wondering if anyone from the UK has had any treatment done under the NHS for this condition.

I was told by my derm that i should ask my GP if they can help with cost. I mean it aint my fault i've got this condition.

Lightbulb Re: NHS/Laser Treatment

why doesnt ur derm just refer u to another derm he knows who does laser cosmetic treatments.

he might even be able to put a word in for you!

the reason u dont go to beauty parlors or spas is because they are not doctors they are beauticians, and the most people that go there are not treating a skin condtion but are ther to make there skin look younger or rejuvinate it or wrinkles, but its up to u.

with all the technology online havent u tried doing a search for dermatologists in u area, or look in a phone book for cosmetic dermatology ?

i'm trying to get it through the NHS. Theres a clinic close by to me that treat PWS's, and i think Anne said the laser of choice for that is PDL.

coz it's through the NHS and it can be funded. And also the NHS is a hospital so the derms in there will be properly qualified to treat skin conditions. Also alot of the places around my area are beauty parlours.
There only 2 places that use PDL in my area that i know of and i've searched alot.

Yeah there is, but only under the NHS, the specialists in the NHS will have more experience and medical background than a beauty therapist.
