Heya Anne, i've been in touch with a clinic called laserase...they work within the NHS (so they should have good experience). And there using the NLite Pulsed Dye Laser...i'm guessing NLite is the british brand name and VBeam been the American brand.

Anyways i have a consultation on Thursday.

no Nlite is not the same laser. It is widely used to treat acne, but can be used as a purpuric PDL for redness. Bear in mind with this laser you will very likely bruise.

i would go anyway and see what they say. ask to see photos of treatments. If they dont have any other than for acne, I would reconsider.

Khrissy , try to find a V beam ! I would seriously recommend a test patch too ! try maybe three 'spots' at various levels. I've had many test patches and the best results seem to be at 'purpuric' levels.ie when bruising occurs ! In fact, my derm recons this is the only way forward . Jason seems to have good results with the stacking method so that is worth trying too but make sure they use a lower setting as the skin will get twice the energy if it's a double zap ! Jason ,which derm do you use as I might be in philly soon ? Regards to you all.

Re: VBeam Laser Practitioners In The UK

Hey, i'm considering PDL treatment but want to read up more about it. I'm wondering how much bruising to expect and for how long they will last, also are multiple visits necessary? I'm in the New York area and if anyone knows any good doctors and price range I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Re: VBeam Laser Practitioners In The UK

Freshone ,In my case bruising can last for up to 2 weeks at the highest setting and then I may get a red mark that slowly fades to white over the next 4 to 8 weeks . I tend to have patches done at just under the highest setting which bruise for about 7 to 10 days then clear over the next week or two . Jason has had success with a stacking method at much lower settings and I think his derm is in Philly . I would always recommend getting some test patches first as you only get one skin and make sure you use an experienced derm not a beauty consultant ! Good luck.
