KP is NOT KPRF.

btw..I hav been to three diffrent derms and the first said something completely else..the second two were quite sure..and only the last one recommended laser..the 2nd guy was very annoying and said there was nothing to do and that there are worse things :S I mean there are always worse things!! thats why I like this forum..you all experience the same frustration!

both! I have the dots and bumps on my arms and legs and the red cheecks that are permenanty red..so it sucks double

OK, first off forget the KP on ur arms and legs KP is nothing compared to KPRF. focus on treating ur KPRF, dont go to a derm and tell them u want ur entire body cleard up, theres nothing they really do for KP that you have to do urself, just moisturize with a plain good moisterrizer AVEENO® Skin Care Products, ur arms legs as soon as u get out of shower while ur body is still damp. and use a fragrance free plain body wash and loofah to wash body in shower. I use aveeno moisturizing bar to wash my face with my hands and water, and moisturize face with aveeno positively smooth facial moisturizer. I started to treat my KPRF back in 04 when I was 24, I went to a local good derm and told me metro gel which is for rosacea and alot of times derms confuse it with KPRF, because KPRF is not as common as rosacea or acne, its just redness in the face (cheeks) cosmetic. any way went to other derms and did the creams, but never never accepted using a steroid or hydrocorstizone dont do it, or even retin a or accutane, I posted on the forum about the link between vitamin a deficency and KPRF, so I had a blood test done and vit a levels were normal, so doest pan out, and i tried accutane for 6 months dont work. then I went to a few derms and had IPL 7 treatments wiht 3 differnt derms 2 here 2 there, none would really help the redness. started paxil 20 mg back in Dec 07 lighted up the redness alot completly stopped my flushing and blushing that I had for about 10 years, found a good derm who deals in general dermatology and cosmetic dermatology thats the key, and started PDL. its not that high a risk u will bruise purple which goes away in 10 days, just a liitle more redness mainly after treatment but after 2 of them I see great improvement, and going for about 3 more over the next few months, I ve been getting them done once a month for 2 months and 3 more over the next 3 months, try to find a good derm in ur area who also deals in cosmetic dermatology and ask if they have IPL, PDL, hair removal, the more machines he or she has the better the derm is to deal with KPRF. my opinion, but u can always browse the forum for what others try and use not to get laser done. its not new laser treatments they been around since 1997 when they really didnt even have a name for this KPRF, it was just considerd KP on the face.


KP will get better, but KPRF u have to treat to get better.

Hey Jason, I hope KP will get better as well. I am not sure after the things I read here though I agree that KPRF is nothing compared to KP, it's on the face and I get confronted with it every time I see a mirror..thank god for make up which covers up most of it..still I am determind to do laser, I think it's the only way solving it and diminish the redness. I was scheduled for IPL treatment in a clinic thursday 20 march but I cancelled it today..I think it's better to go to the hospital first where they do laser as well..I did this because I checked wether the clinic had a variety of lasers and that wasnt the cause..hospital oppointment is at 20 march and they have IPL as well as PDL..I simply switched things can you please tell me how bad your kprf was and how much improvement PDL gave you? 4 years are a lot trying to solve your KPRF..I hope for you that when you finished PDL your problems are solved.. I only know since 2 months there is a name for this..my brother has it as well, and my father said he had it..do u think it cleares with age?
