I would like to have some treatments but am finding it difficult finding specialists. Most offer IPL, which is useless for KPRF longterm.

Thanx

Re: Vbeam?

Vbeam is also called Pulse Dye Laser in medical offices or PDL for short. try that.

Re: Vbeam?

Jason,
I have taken corgard, clonidine and every antidepressant you can imagine. Now, I am on metoprplol and xanax. Basically I panic when I blotch up which makes for a really interesting scene... it sounds rediculous but when it is happening it is awful and I end up with red blotches all over my face neck and chest which inevitably invoke the quesions of.. "oh my god, are you all right whats wrong with your face and neck???" I don't do anything in public because of this and go into hiding which is sad because it is just not who I am but this blotching has really taken over my life!

Re: Vbeam?

theres one other thing you might wanna try, hypnosis for flushing and blushing, average office visit $100, and flushing and blushing is something they treat along with smoking and other hard to kick habits and phobias.

Re: Vbeam?

Yogatz , give Peter Crouch a call at the Burghley park clinic . Very nice guy . I ve only had a few test patches done with him but he does seem excellent . He's in Swindon but easy to find and not far from London.

What was the problem that was being treated and how intense were the treatments?

Re: Vbeam?

It is good to get some feedback on the VBeam laser but because there are so many variables involved with it can I get a bit more info off you.

Did a dermatologist do the treatment or was it more a beauty type therapist?

Do you know the model name of the laser that was used?

What condition had you been diagnosed with?

What was your skin like immediately following the treatment i.e. was it covered in small purple bruise marks, swollen etc or were the immediate after effects not noticeable?????

The more we know about lasers and their effects the more accurate a picture we can get. Because there are so many lasers out there and lots of different skill levels of people applying them it is good to get some specifics about treatment.

Re: Vbeam?

Anne,

to answer ur question about whether or not blood vessels are affected by KPRF the answer is YES, I just came from my derms office from my second hair removal treatment which Im having 3 of them done before I start the (PDL) V beam treatments, and he said that the blood vessels in your face FEED everything hair, skin, cells, etc. and results in a vascular conditon. another thing I tell you is hair removal removed the bumps along with the hair, for men anyway because women do not grow facial hair, but out of the few bumps i had are gone after 1 treatment. also for anyone who dont like the PAIN, with any kind of laser treatments ask for a prescription from your derm for ELMA cream it is topical Lidocaine (like what the dentists use but in a cream form for skin) it numbs you right up, you barely feel anything. so just some more input for the board.

Re: Vbeam?

ok, yeah maybe after menapause but by then you will know you have this conditon for alteast 40 yrs. and women dont grow facial like a man does, be realistic. unless they have hirutism which is hormone related (bearded lady look). my point is i had the bumps around my hair on my cheeks since it was removed the bumps went away too!like i said men grow alot facial hair unlike a woman, but you say
women do grow facial hair.... everyone does, unless u mean peach fuzz. is a MAN has bumps from KPRF in his beard area (cheeks) then hair removal is definatly an option for the bumps which are excess keratin aound the hair opening. but i really dont know how to respond to your comment exactly. i just posted some helpfull info.

Re: Vbeam?

Jason , I had several ipl treatments which removed hair but did nothing to improve the redness . I understand you re using this as a first stage treatment so maybe it ll help. Be warned that with hair removal you might see increased hair growth on other parts of your face ie. cheek bones and side of forehead , I certainly have and it takes a year or two to get going. I also don't feel that hair removal is the answer, if you can get the hairs to grow through the skin then the pores are not blocked and keratin won't be building up.

Yogataz , I don't know the type of pdl he uses but check the website , it'll be there . Also I don't think the machine brand is all important !
