Laser/IPL
Ok, I'm fed up with this condition. I have an appointment on Wednesday with a doctor concerning lasers/IPL to hopefully get rid of some of the redness. I don't have a lot of bumps on my face, it is actually quite smooth. Just a lot of redness. I'll let you all know how it goes. Something has got to get rid of this.

Re: Laser/IPL
Hiya Red , can I recommend PDL as opposed to IPL . I had another test patch done the other day at various power setting , it was the nlite and setting of 9,8,6 and 5 J/cm were used .9 being the highest setting allowable on this machine. With PDL the general consensus seems to suggest sub puperic (no purple marks after treatment ) setting are less effective and my own evidence would support this, I m booked in for a full PDL treatment in Nov. Good luck and keep us informed . I m also trying a veinwave treatment but had little or no sucess with 1 full treatment so might go for some more test patches there also.
Regards . Last edited by Elsa Zoe; 09-11-2007 at 01:47 PM. Reason: Fixed: veinwave instead of v beam |

Re: Laser/IPL
I have had two full face PDL treatments (model was Candela Vbeam pulse dyed laser)
My face was red from UO and atrophoderma vermiuculata. I am pleased withe the results. But as my redness was intense there was alot of bruising (took 2 weeks to look near normal with makeup on). KPRF may react differently however. I researched the whole laser thing before getting treatment and continually came across PDL as the laser of choice for redness. Not all lasers are the same as they target different things. The PDL will target anything that is red. Check the Candela vbeam site : http://www.vbeam.com/vbeamBrochure.pdf From what I have just read it appears the bruising may now be less (my last treatment was 2 years ago) Good luck |

Re: Laser/IPL
I've had two IPL treatments - it was just a waste of money - a little reduced redness for 4-5 weeks that's all. If I were you I'd go with PDL

Re: Laser/IPL
I have had my third IPL and I'm starting to show an improvement. The IPL's hurt worse than I expected though! The first two didn't do much in terms of the overall, persistent redness, but they did reduce my flushing episodes. I think it was because the nurse started me off at a pretty low setting. The third one was cranked up a bit, and after I was quite red for the rest of the day, but I can definitely tell a difference now. I am going to do a total of 6 so I will keep you all updated!

Re: Laser/IPL
I'm going to get three PDL's treatments done. I had one IPL done, then I read up on it and apparently its effects are temporary, so I decided to go with PDL instead.
