Question about KPRF
Hi, so I haven't been on the forum in a while since my KP has been bearable, I've been staying true to my Omega-3s and my skin has definately benefitted. However, rewind a year ago and I had to go on accutane for severe acne which didn't have a huge effect on my visible KP. However, during and now (6 months) after accutane it has made my redness in my face worse. Before accutane I had a few broken blood vessels near my nose where most people get them. After and during accutane I developed a few on my cheeks where I flush. I have the KPRF bumps on my outer cheeks but since and during accutane my redness has spanned to my inner cheeks too. I have found a picture when I was young and very flushed and it looks like that whenever I flush now on a daily basis. I was wanting to make sure I don't have rosacea too. Things that are strikes against rosacea (which one of my old derms said i had without even looking at my skin, ugh just by the redness) is my age: I am only 16 and it has been happening for many years before this. Also I only flush on my cheeks, my nose, forehead, and chin are pale as well as my temples and eyebrows.
That brings me back to the question: can you have broken blood vessels from KPRF? It is to be noted that my mom has many broken blood vessels without redness, but she does have sensitive skin. I also used harsh products once ago for my acne, so I'm wondering if that could have caused it... I also have a couple of these broken blood vessels on my body from an old extremely harsh exfoliating brush I used to use. |

Re: Question about KPRF
hello;
What you have does sound like rosacea, because kprf does not have any visible telangenicias. Kp is just redness with the kp white keratin bumps on the face. About accutane, it does make you redder because it thins the skin. DO NOT USE ANY CORTIZONE for redness. |

Re: Question about KPRF
thanks, peter. Does anybody else have anything to add? also I find it weird that I can get broken blood vessels on my body where I have no visible redness. Also wouldn't rosacea affect more than just my cheeks?

Re: Question about KPRF
in many cases it can just be genetic to have visible broken blood vessels, such as leg veins etc "your case" were it is genetic. The vein wave treatment does a good job at eliminating them.
as for facial redness all there is, is lasers "vbeam recommended".... by any chance you have any type of dermatitis in your face? Flaky, itchy, red? if you do- get elidel, which will get rid of it and "dermatitis" can be up to 30% percent of your redness... |
