Wow I really feel for the people writing into that site. I'm prone to blushing too, but its something thats really getting better with age. I'm 22 now and I doubt I'll still be self-conscious enough that I'll still blush when I'm 30. Its the make-up that has given me the confidence really.

I just feel so sorry for those poor people having that operation (I think it was called ETS) to cut a nerve in the back of their neck to stop them blushing. And all the aweful side-effects! And then for many of them it doesn't even work!

You have a very good point squibb. You should post a message on their website letting them know about this one. From what I read, I think some of them may have KP and not know it.

Let me know what dermablend is like. I'm always on the lookout for make-up that covers the KP but also looks natural.

$20! Thats so much cheaper than the make-up I buy!

yea i bought the tester kit from amazon.com so I gotta find what color is best for me.

Im a dude so if it isnt perfect im going without it. The only reason I really want to try it is cause I got the blotchy KP on one side...if it was uniform I probably wouldnt care. It would just be nice to not deal with it being on my mind for once.

Either way...what do I have to lose?

I asked my family doc about ETS - he said it was too drastic for me (that was before I found out I had KPRF).

My derm told me to wear heavier foundation and use green concealer. He actually got a little annoyed with me when I told him I don't wear make-up because A) I sweat too much and it slides right off and B) green concealer makes me look paler than I already am.

Jane Iredale is absolutely the best makeup I have ever purchased. You can barely tell you are even wearing makeup at all. It is a bit pricy though, about $50, but it is worth every penny.

Smile I found relief from redness with a mineral make up

Hello, I'm new here, just found the site. I have KP on my back, arms and legs. Have had for many years. I thought I had Rosacae on my face but did not know that KP could involve the face, dermatologist diagnosed Rosacae twenty years ago.

Anyway, I have been using Aromaleigh mineral make up and it has made a dramatic improvement in the redness of my cheeks and nose and chin. Even the broken veins have shrunk. I can go in public with no make up even right after showering.

One of the owners of the company told me it was probably the Zinc Oxide that helps and that they hear it often helps from Rosacae sufferers.

Might help some of you too. Men/boys can wear it at night, it is safe to sleep wearing it and no one would know.

I truly have experienced amazing relief from redness. I haven't used Metrocream in a month. I noticed a difference after one day. I do not sell Aromaleigh or have anything to gain by recommending it. Just thought I'd pass it along to others who might gain some relief from having a red face.
www.aromaleigh.com is their site. Complete ingredients are listed. They sell samples so you can try it for much less than many other mineral make ups. There is no Bismuth, which gives shine and irritation to many brands.

great foundation

Hi

I have KP on my arms and a small amount on my face, although I have the slight red cheeks. I've been using foundation created by a make-up artist who actually has Rosacea herself. She created the foundation taking into account that it would have to cover the red in her face. It's amazing...gets rid of all the red, but looks really natural (not caked or heavy at all). I just use it on the red areas and leave the rest of my skin. I actually have to use a small amount of blusher because it removes all the colour in my face.

The make-up is Arianne Poole. Not sure if there's a website. I am in London so not sure if you can get it worldwide.

great foundation

Hi

I just tried to post this message - not sure if it went through.

Try Arianne Poole foundation. It's created by Arianne Poole who actually has Rosacea herself. Gets rid of all the red, but looks completely natural. It has the best texture I've ever felt, really smooth and creamy.

I'm in London - not sure if you can get it worldwide.
